Single number three from the forthcoming HOW TO GET RICH VOL 3 is one of my favourite songs I’ve made, as it’s one of those special ones I’ve been looking forward to being able to make since I was a kid, and I just got to the point where I could make it.
The song was written by me playing a chord progression over the looped section of what I knew as soon as I heard it was the chorus, and right there and then I hear the whole guitar melody, drum groove, bassline, vocal harmonies… it felt like driving at high speed along a coastline with top down with a fine woman at one’s side, nothing to do but GO, the whole world unfolding before you, peace, happiness, acceptance.
It’s a very good advice as well, and advice young me would have done well to mind, had he the ears to listen. That I am here at all to execute this magnificent record is a miracle in itself, as I had no idea what a Kelly Criterion was, and I certainly heeded no such creed. Yet, somehow, here we are, THE KELLY CRITERION is out now, and HOW TO GET RICH VOL 3 is out on July 21st.
